Summer Camp 2026 Recap: An Amazing Summer with Nova x FLYMC
What a summer! ☀️🎵
Our 2026 Nova Music School & FLYMC Summer Camp has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible six weeks it was!
Together, Nova Music School and Family Life Youth & Multicultural Centre (FLYMC) created a summer filled with music, creativity, recreation, new experiences, friendships, and plenty of fun.
From learning instruments and performing to arts, games, martial arts, VBS, and exciting weekly themes, there was always something happening. Most importantly, our campers had opportunities to learn, grow, build confidence, make new friends, and create some amazing summer memories.
Nova x FLYMC Weeks of Summer Fun!
Every week brought a new theme and a completely different camp experience. Here is a closer look on the weeks that we collaborated with FLYMC.
🎨🏃 Week 1 – Arts & Recreation
We kicked off the summer with an exciting week of Arts & Recreation! Campers jumped into creative art projects, outdoor games, team challenges, and Survivor-inspired activities. It was the perfect way to break the ice, make new friends, build teamwork, and start the summer with plenty of energy and laughter!
Week 2 – Hawaii Week
Aloha from Nova x FLYMC! Week 2 brought tropical fun, creativity, and island-inspired adventures. Campers enjoyed arts and recreation activities, explored American Sign Language (ASL) as a special skill, and celebrated the week with a fun-filled Hawaiian Luau. It was a wonderful week of creativity, connection, and summer excitement!
Week 3 – Piano Book Blast
Nova brought music to the centre of Week 3 with our Piano Book Blast! Campers worked on their piano skills, challenged themselves musically, and celebrated their progress throughout the week. We had many rising stars who came out of their shells during our end-of-week recital!
Week 4 – VBS & Arts and Recreation
Week 4 brought together faith, creativity, and adventure! Our Vacation Bible School (VBS) campers explored the Fruit of the Spirit through engaging lessons and activities, while our Arts & Recreation campers enjoyed a jungle-themed week filled with creative projects, games, and exciting challenges. It was another memorable week of learning, discovery, and fun!
Week 5 – Glee, Musical Theatre & Martial Arts
This was an action-packed week! Campers explored singing, vocal warm-ups, choreography, improv, acting games, solos, duets, and group performances. Collaborating alongside Kaizen Martial Arts, some of our campers also participated in martial arts activities that encouraged confidence, focus, and discipline. We all came together for our theatre production!
Week 6 – Band Week
We ended the summer on a high note with Band Week! Campers experienced what it's like to make music together, collaborate with others, and bring everything together for an exciting final week. We all got the opportunity to jam out together, with campers, volunteers, and counsellors performing. It was truly a great note to end this season of camps!

A successful summer camp takes an incredible team, and we were blessed with an amazing one.
Our camp counsellors, coordinators, assistants, and volunteers brought so much energy, patience, creativity, encouragement, and FUN to each day.
They weren't just there to run activities. They cheered our campers on, helped them try new things, celebrated their accomplishments, made them laugh, and worked hard behind the scenes to make every week special.
A huge thank you to Rachel, Sarah, Sanai, Emma, Yashita, Ashli, and Shanielle for everything you poured into our campers and our summer program.
We also want to thank our wonderful volunteers and Kaizen Martial Arts for helping us create such a memorable experience.
We couldn't have done it without you! 💛
More Than Just Camp
When Nova & FLYMC look back on Summer Camp 2026, it's not just the activities we'll remember.
It's the friendships.
The laughter.
The campers, trying something new for the first time.
The music coming together.
The proud smiles after accomplishing something they didn't think they could do.
And all those little moments that made each week special.
To all of the parents and guardians, thank you for trusting Nova & FLYMC to be part of your child's summer.
And to all of our campers, thank you for bringing your energy, creativity, personalities, and enthusiasm. You are what made Summer Camp 2026 such a success!
