What does Nova Music School offer?

We provide private lessons, group classes, camps & programs, and support for festivals & exams. We also host community events, sponsorships, and referral programs.

What instruments and areas of music do you teach?

We offer lessons in piano, voice, guitar, drums, alto sax, violin, ukulele, music theory, history, Song writing and professional development for musicians and more.

Where are you located, and do you offer online lessons?

We are based in Brampton, ON, proudly serving Bramalea and the surrounding areas. In addition to in-person sessions, we offer online lessons that allow us to teach students from around the world. Students also have the option of hybrid lessons — a flexible blend of in-person and online sessions — designed to accommodate busier schedules.

Is there a trial class available?

Yes — new students are eligible for a free trial class before committing

Scheduling & Enrollment

How do I enroll in a private lesson or group class?

1. Fill out the online registration form

2. Choose the program or instrument you’d like

5. You’ll receive a confirmation email with all class details

How long are group classes?

Our group classes are 45 minutes long and combine structured instruction, group activities, and one-on-one support.
For Theory we have 1 Hour Session.

Can I change my schedule or teacher later?

Changes to schedule or instructor are accommodated when possible, subject to availability. Please reach out to our administrative team to request adjustments.

What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Our studio policies outline guidelines around cancellations, late arrivals, and make-up lessons. Please review our Studio Policies page or contact us directly to see what applies to your situation.

Costs & Payment

How much do lessons cost?

Our pricing depends on the instrument, lesson format (private or group), lesson length, and instructor.
Private lessons range from $24–$30/30mins session, while group classes are typically $20–$25 per session.

When and how do I pay?

Payment can be set up at the time of registration. Fees are charged on the 1st of the month by auto-deposit. When you log into our Opus portal you can ‘Update Payment Method’ in the Left-hand Menu, 3rd icon down. For additional ways to pay, please speak to our management team or email us at [email protected].

Are there discounts available?

We periodically run promotions (e.g. first class free) and may offer referral credits. Check our site announcements or contact us to see current offers.

Learning Experience & Tools

How are lessons tailored to my goals?

Each lesson begins with exploring the student’s specific musical goals. Our mentors will use this as a guide and adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style, pace, and musical interests. Whether it is a group or private session, our instructors blend technique, theory, and creativity to help each student grow.

What tools is available for me to manage homework and assignment?

We offer many resources to help students to successfully practice at home.

You can hope onto our Practice Hub for blogs, downloadables, and, resources, and practice video guides.

Practice Space is a tool we use to turn practice into a fun, trackable experience. This app supports practicing by tracking weekly assignments, logging practice sessions, sending teachers videos for feedback, built-in timers and metronome. We provide a studio code to join free of cost to students!

How often should I practice?

We recommend consistent practice between lessons (daily if possible). The more regular your practice, the quicker your progress, and the higher the level will require more practice than beginners. Use Practice Space to help structure and motivate your practice time in collaboration with your teacher’s guidance.

If you’re starting out: try 20-30min/day and work up from there 🙂

Can adults learn music at Nova?

Absolutely! Students of all ages—kids, teens, and adults—are welcome. We tailor lessons to your pace and goals, no matter when you start.

Exams, Performances & Progress

Do you support music exams or festivals?

Yes — we help students prepare for music festivals, examinations, and recitals as part of our programs.

Will I have performance opportunities?

Yes — our group classes and programs often include opportunities to perform in front of peers, at recitals, or competitions to build confidence and showcase progress. We also enjoy giving back to the community through various community events and venues and invite our students to share their talent with others often!

How do you track student progress?

Teachers maintain progress notes, set goals, and review student growth regularly. Practice Space allows you (and your teacher) to see logs and patterns over time.

Miscellaneous

What if I have to miss a lesson?

Please notify us ahead of time when possible. Where allowed by policy, we may offer rescheduling or make-up lessons. Check Studio Policies for full details.

Can I switch from private lessons to group classes (or vice versa)?

Yes. You may change your lesson format based on your progress, interest, or schedule. Contact us to adjust your enrollment.
